Different Between Ac and DC Charger

AC and DC chargers are two different types of charging systems for electric vehicles (EVs).

AC Charger (Alternating Current) AC chargers use alternating current (AC) to charge the EV battery. The charging station converts the AC power from the grid into DC power, which is then used to charge the EV battery. AC charging is typically slower than DC charging, taking several hours to charge an EV battery to full capacity. However, AC charging is more widely available and can be used for overnight charging at home.

DC Charger (Direct Current) DC chargers use direct current (DC) to charge the EV battery. The charging station directly supplies DC power to the EV battery, bypassing the need to convert AC power to DC power. DC charging is faster than AC charging, with some DC charging stations able to charge an EV battery to 80% in around 30 minutes. However, DC charging stations are less common and typically found at commercial locations such as shopping centers and highways.

In summary, DC charging is faster than AC charging but less common, while AC charging is more widely available but slower.
